There’s nothing greater than young minds achieving their full potential as intelligent, self-sufficient and productive members of society. The South African Lebanese Education Advancement Foundation (SALEAF) shares former President Nelson Mandela’s conviction that education can change the world.

This is why we’ve made it our mission to raise funds to educate young South Africans of Lebanese descent.

Just think what education can do for each community in South Africa and for South Africa as a whole! Through your involvement, we can help change the world one day at a time.

We invite you to look around our site and find out how you can participate as a donor or applicant.

About Saleaf

SALEAF is a registered NPO and owes its origin to a body of the same name founded in the 1970’s by a group of South African Lebanese businessmen who identified the need to raise funds to assist in the education of members of their community.

Over the past three decades many have benefited from their efforts. There are scores of successful professionals and businessmen and women today whose achievements were made possible through the education they received which was either partially or fully funded by the original SALEAF.

They say that charity begins at home, and on that basis a group of like-minded South Africans of Lebanese descent re-launched SALEAF in 2006 to take the legacy of the original organisation forward with renewed vigour and determination.

SALEAF is a civil NPO, not affiliated to any other association. It is non-religious, non-racist and non-sexist.

Our Objective

SALEAF’s goal is straightforward: To educate, empower and uplift as many young South Africans of Lebanese descent by providing them with the financial support to gain a tertiary education and the opportunity to realise their full potential.

Fundraising

In South Africa, our current socio-economic environment rightly requires that previously disadvantaged candidates continue to be a priority for financial support from Government, educational institutions, NGO’s and the business sector; and the demand for this assistance is significant.

This means that many South African Lebanese candidates who have excelled academically and are in need of financial assistance to further their studies are of necessity overlooked.

Please help us to make a difference in the lives of many young students. All they need is an opportunity.

No amount is too small.
